LCD Soundsystem's final show + documentary + James Murphy's expressions = Epic. "Shut up and play the hits", a title that basically sums up the life of many artists and DJ's out there, will premiere at Sundance on January 22, keep an eye out for it after that, judging from the trailer it's an absolute must see.
This MUST SEE movie is based on Australia's worst serial killing case, the "bodies in barrels" case, which took place in the 90's. I have seen several serial killer movies in my life, but this one definitely takes you places you have never been before. Snowtown is like a visual pressure cooker that literally sucks you into the story, and it's main characters, from the beginning till the end.
I just saw this movie during my tour in Australia and it really blew my mind, it's one of those rare movies that really gets under your skin. This beautifully shot Australian highschool drama depicts a downward spiral of destruction and violence in a very realistic way, with great music as an added bonus. My advise? Go see it when you get the chance.
